    Samsung QLED TV?

The Qled is a fantastic TV. But I would say take care not to damage the very thin fibre optic cable that connects the one connect box and the TV. I learnt recently you will not be use the Qled Samsung TV if the cable is damaged.

110v to 220v transformer.... I have an honest question.

I used a step down transformer on my onkyo 308 bought in the US. It worked fine there was hum from the step down transformer but that didn't interfere with the sound from the amp. From my experience there are a lot of theoretical issues raised by people but I didn't experience problems with...

    Tannoy Center with B&W CM1's ??

Sometimes we over complicate things. If it sounds good to you thats all the matters. Those little Boston's were and still the best speaker demo I've experienced yet especially consider their size

    xbox one as brp

I thought any blu ray player with DD True HD and DTS MA playback capability could play atmos and dts - x as well? So theoretically a gaming console with a built in blu ray player may well play the latest HD sound formats  ie atmos/dtsx as long the signal is bitstreamed to an atoms/dtsx enabled...

Velodyne EQ Max 12 vs SVS PB1000

For me so far the best sub I've heard for music is the B&W Pv1 but seems like there's a new champion sub in the house - SVS. :notworthy: I will take a listen. Great review

Velodyne EQ Max 12 vs SVS PB1000

Your description makes the sub seem incredible for a small driver. What is the size of your room? Have you tested it with music and were the result just as good ? I have considered the sb 12 nsd maybe I should be looking at this one

    HSU vtf 15 subwoofers

For the same sub they quoted me a delivery charge of 2600 USD to SA a few years ago. Try SVS it's now available locally

Onkyo TX 608 no input/ signal via hdmi out problem

Mine was 350 USD or thereabout I dont remember 100%. Plus a stepdown transformer when I realized I couldnt just plug into a 240v mains. At the end it wasnt that cheap.

Onkyo TX 608 no input/ signal via hdmi out problem

Same thing happened to my 608 bought in the US. The retailer didn't want to touch it but I eventually got help from the distributors after much begging who fixed it for R2500 but that was years ago. What must you do if the thing breaks down in SA they must help you, its about the brand

I just know I'm gonna get mocked for this but...

I was frustrated with my hometheatre sound I just wasnt getting the sound I wanted until I started tweaking the settings, researching and experimenting. Logic was for the money i spent there was something i was doing wrong... there had to be more.  :headbanger: My lesson was it's worthwhile to...

So you think you ears are good...really ?

But what is good sound? It depends what you have been exposed to in terms of music choices or hifi gear or just musical education. Most people I know are very content with a Sony Mgongo and the like and will argue that it doesnt make sense to buy expensive gear anyway since everything just...

Help! My current speakers are B&W

You tasted it and didn't like it. Your comments are fair to me. Ive owned it and would not go back again. Price vs performance for me was a deal breaker in comparison to competition is the subs. B&w makes beautiful speakers and market them well but my experience is the are other great choices...

Fair Value of an Onkyo TX-NR1010, with small HDMI issue

The fair question should be how much would you have traded it in for had you known it had the hdmi issue? I would sell it for the same as the tradein price seeing how much the 1030 costs with full disclosure of course of the hdmi issue. Willing seller willing buyer principle. replacing the hdmi...

Monitor Audio Gold 100 vs SVS Ultra bookshelf

The MA Gold 100 is a good bookshelf. Balanced sound with crisp highs, they replaced floorstanders and have never felt I missed the extra drivers. Having owned the MAs and B&W 685 S1 I'd say definitely the MAs are more refined. Youll get what you paid for. And with that monster Svs sub I would be...

    yamaha rx-v775 sufficient to power b&w 683?

@ bob o. I think the guys have addressed what  I was trying to explain. Alive means sound quality. your movies and music must be delivered with authority and realism. To achieve that you need a powerful amp driving your speakers
