Ok I hooked my baby up, and I'm very impressed.
Avatar 1080P mkv was the first to be tested ;D , beautiful.
Then did the latest fw update (cant wait for their version 4) and have a few questions.
Have you guys left the picture settings at 25?
Am I right in choosing 1080P 50hz?
Finally settled on the Mede8er. Just due to support and that if there are ever issues, Sanji is based here in SA.
Bought the 1TB HDD model for R3009 from Simplicty Online.
@Ken your settings worked very well.
Tested them on "Magnum P.I." on TopTv. Being an old show so the colours would be a little washed out with age, the show looked pretty clean without looking too falsely vibrant.
went through the other presets to see which it looked similar to and it came...
Thanks I'll try that today with the brightness.
& yes, please post the other settings. Cant help to try and see the effect it has. I'm not a fundi on AV calibration, but nice to know that I tried different settings.
@Ken
I tried your settings and I must say I was surprised. Much better than the previous settings i had on "professional 1".
Not as drained of colour as the previous setting.
BTW did you do any adjustments on RGB gains?
So that's the reason. I kept thinking why, after all that calibration, it would look like that. I tried for a while to accept the picture, but it wasnt doing anything for me. I'll try looking at it again with that fact in mind tonight.
Im going to. I have a guy from take2, who has the same TV as i do, settings on Professional 1. I still find Cinema settings quite agreeable though.
I'm gonna try yours on Professional 2.
Here's the settings I tried initially: (Still wasnt very vibrant and looked dull)
