Dirac Live - Post speaker levels?

Got a reply from a different forum. I’ll adjust the initial levels during calibration and go from there. I might do minor tweaks afterwards using the speaker levels in the AMP menu but I’ll see.

Dirac Live - Post speaker levels?

All, New to the forum and just got my 305, so super stoked! I do have a question though, typically with room correction features etc. I would normally go in after the fact and manually tweak the speaker levels. I'd then increase certain channels like the centre and Atmos channels for more...

    Dolby Atmos 4 height speakers?

Thanks for the detailed response. I’m going to use the Pioneer 305 (if I can get my Sony DH-790 sold!). I’ve got a friend who also couldn’t install the rear height speakers behind him due to the roof bulkhead and he ended up installing it above the MLP and the front’s 1.5 metres forward. He then...

    Dolby Atmos 4 height speakers?

Found this nice tool https://slc.cinema-tools.com/#!/ to help with positioning

    Dolby Atmos 4 height speakers?

@Drifter if I look at my current angle forthe front heights they are 69 degrees (remember they were installed with only .2 in mind so closer to the MLP). Then the furthest back I can mount the rear heights are 100 degrees. So I can either leave the existing holes (and out a cover on for one day...

    Dolby Atmos 4 height speakers?

Thanks, I can indeed install them at position x and leave the fronts where they are (tm). It’s just that they might be very close to each other so not sure if you’re going to get separation? I’m gauging that they’ll be 120cm apart. Also note that our ceilings are indeed higher than a normal home...

    Dolby Atmos 4 height speakers?

All- So I decided to make a rough sketch (and yes it's VERY rough)...but you know what they say a picture is worth a thousand words! So anyway, I have a couple of choices which I want to run pass the community. a) I could either just install a second set of Atmos speakers (in ceiling) in...

    Dolby Atmos 4 height speakers?

Thanks! So he did say that 5.1.4 is the overall winner. Lol. I’m still keen to here from people with similar setups.

    Dolby Atmos 4 height speakers?

Yeah, I really want to go with the 5.1.4 setup. I know it's not going to be technically how Dolby would want it but I've spoken to others (incl. speaker manufacturers) who says you can do it, no problem. One option is to configure them as FH (front height) and MH (middle hight) which will fit...

    Dolby Atmos 4 height speakers?

Thanks! So my room is 400cm wide by 470cm long and ceiling are 300cm heigh. The couch is in an L shape and almost against the back wall (so not that much space behind me). Then if I'm to install 2x additional Atmos speakers, where will I put them? Considering the fact that I already have two in...

    Dolby Atmos 4 height speakers?

Cool thanks! I’ve got the two ceiling speakers mounted with a current 7.2 setup. The question is more will a 9.2 make that much more of a difference to the listening experience and is it (5.1.4 or 7.1.2) worth the extra money?

    Dolby Atmos 4 height speakers?

All new to the forum so exited to share insights with the group! So curious to know from others if the 'extra' two height speakers is worth it? What I'm trying to understand is will a 7.2 AV amp suffice or spend a little extra and get an 9.2 with the option of 4 height speakers or 2 rear...
