    Woodworking machinery

Getting a TS55 with guide rail and clamps for 7500, another rail would push up the price to 8k Getting RO 150 is 7500 as well with a decent pad and some free sandpaper. They also sell reconditioned units. So getting a dust extractor for 4k.

    Gloss Finish on MDF

As Ian mentioned the crinkling is due to the thinning agents which reacts when applying a second coat. What I did find Skylar, is that even though both the apple red and black had the same acetone composition according to their tech sheets, the black was much more sensitive. Given the same...

    Gloss Finish on MDF

It's really is hard to be patient, but once you've seen all your sanding work go down the drain you quickly learn  :teach: For me the hardest part was waiting between coats. It's always so tempting to try and touch up here and there but that's when things go horribly wrong.

    Gloss Finish on MDF

It's an apple red  the iPhone pics don't accurate capture the colour. Have a red feature wall hence the red and black colour scheme. Absolutely nothing. I would have definitely gone the 2k route but as mentioned I live in a complex so couldn't use a compressor. What I did find in my...

    Gloss Finish on MDF

Thanks guys On the first quote during any process I went very light - you could actually see the wood, or previous painted layer. The following coats I went slightly heavier. The Rust Oleum cans seemed to produce fairly decent coverage which does help. I also got that rough effect you...

    Recommendation for Universal remote

@ dnavid Thanks for pointing just how useful the DSTV remote really is  :) Didn't realise it's capabilities till I read this post. Still believe there is a need for a Harmony but this works great in the interim.

    Squeezebox

Does anyone have experience with the Duet. Just ordered one of EBay since it was a great deal but after looking into things more closely seems like a touch would have been the way to go. I intend on using an external DAC but would I still need to get a touch where the duet comes up short.

Thanks gents. Yeah, Polk's are great value for money. Figured the A5s would be better matched with my little 609. That's why need to look at getting a Sub soon. Besides once I have other items on my list (HTPC, DAC, etc...) then will look at upgrading all over again  ;)
