Please help me decide a reciever

Hi all I need to decide between the Denon AVR-S970H and the Denon AVR-S760H. The main noticeable differences are that the S970 pushes 15w more to the speakers and has an extra HDMI out. The main use is is for a small room with bookshelf speakers. I dont think I need to extra wattage but I'm...

    Marantz SR6008 and 4K

Hi all I e got a Marantz SR6008 and I?m getting a new 4K tv, finally. I wanted to check if I?ll be able to view 4K Netflix via my Apple TV 4K that is currently plugged into one of the hdmi ports at the back of my Amp. Currently I run everything via my amp and then to the tv. The SR6008 manual...

    B&H cable connector came loose

I've always used banana plugs on these speakers. I've now moved them and tried to connect the cable directly by unscrewing the connector only because it was stiff I think I unscrewed the whole thing and now I can't get it back in. Any advice on fixing this would be most welcome:

Using screws into speaker to mount on wall, is it ok'?

Thanks for the feedback guys. I don't think they are worth much some I'm not too concerned about resale value. The mounts are made of steel and quite heavy. I think that they could much more weight than this B&W's. I'll look at the problem and try and make it as neat as possible. Possibly use...

Using screws into speaker to mount on wall, is it ok'?

Hi I've got two surround speaker wall mounts that look much like the ones Ellie's used to sell. My surrounds are B&W 303's. The mount works by adjusting its length to the sides of the speakers with four screw holes and the left and right sides. Is it ok to put screws through and tap into...

4K TV with Non-4K Amp - Did I wire it right?

I think you are right. For now my PS4 Pro is limited to 5.1 but I think thats ok, I don't see any games that support DTS MA and True HD. Also I'm not seeing massive improvements playing games in 4K, it's nice and a bit sharper but I am enjoying the HDR, that for me, add a lot more than 4K...

4K TV with Non-4K Amp - Did I wire it right?

Thanks very much for the advice. Yesterday I ran another HDMI cable through the wall for ARC. I got it working on and the amp shows that it's receiving a feed for all the speakers, centre, sides, surrounds and sub. There is a setting on the TV to set HDMI Audi out to PCM or Bitstream. I've...

    Memory Foam Rug

Just to conclude this thread. I found a place were I can buy the memory foam in sheets 1.9x1.4. I got two and now I just need to find something to cover it with, like a super thin fluffy rug. It's going to be a plush floor and hopefully minimise the wooden clunk when walking on it.

4K TV with Non-4K Amp - Did I wire it right?

As a work around for downloaded moves with True HD we can use another device for playback like a Mac mini or Pc connected directly to the amp, it'll work unless the movie is 4k. Still sucks though.

    Memory Foam Rug

Hi Guys I've setup a gaming room thats in a loft I have above my home office. It's got a wooden floor and can be a little noisy to walk on. I thought it would be great to cover most of it with a memory foam rug, only, I have no idea where to find one. I live in CT and if anyone has any ideas...

A smart TV or a standard unit with an Apple TV

I'd go Apple TV for sure. Smart TV's are nice and work well enough but the Apple TV experience is tough to beat.
