Pretty sure that is a really creaky sustain pedal, it's too regular to be a chair doing that. In fact, there is what sounds like a chair also mixed up in there. Quite unusual and very distracting.

100% agreed by all accounts it is a good cartridge but my phono stage on the Yamaha receiver did not align with its impedance requirements. Also probably the other factors mentioned played a role. I never got the opportunity to try it on the Zen Phono.

Indeed, low mass meaning a non-removable headshell. To me, the improvement from the previous TT and VM95E was substantial but probably had more to do with the improved plinth and improved speed stability over the previous unit.

It's an Ortofon OM10, so still work to be done.  Will probably upgrade at some point, changing a lot of things at rhe moment need to slow down to understand what does what. Been eyeballing the puffin, great utility on it as well for setup, lots of magic stuff happening. I guess the jury is out...
