I own a Fostex E2 1/4" two track deck which so far has been trouble free. Any bit of old equipment needs repairs at some stage, some have to be recapped as a matter of course. Other's which were built with better components not so much. None of my Otari decks have ever needed belts or caps nor...

Hi HH, I have a fair bit of material recorded on my Studer A80 plus a couple done on friends (2) units. Plus a Studer A820 and also a couple of B67's. Also listened to another A80 which I had and had A820 heads fitted (head stack ex Teddy). They all sound more or less the same and recordings...
