I would absolutely love to assist but you know I am going try to wrestle those Carver drivers off you.... I am sure those drivers can play a little higher than 200hz you can experiment on your active xo and my ribbon can work from 400hz.
Shamil thanks for sharing this with us you have had a really interesting life and your passion for sound and knowledge is very encouraging. It's always a pleasure visiting I am always scanning that gigantic room for gems it's like being a kid in a candy store.
Very nice I am surprised you don't need a lot of power to drive them. That ribbon looks great I am sure if you remove it it will not be the same speaker.
Thanks Schalk I thought so, looking at the design and not being able to find anything that looks similar on the net excepting the Dahlquists I had a hunch the legendary Daan made these. They are really well built and of course the heart of the speaker is the xo one can clearly see a huge amount...
I recently purchased these speakers blindly as the seller was not sure who they were manufactured by but looking at the design I immediately noticed a similarity to the famous Dalquist DQ10 and the Daan Jacobs Ref 4.
.
The dipole midbass is the Phillips AD5060 and the tweeter is a scan D2008...
Hey Sean well you can always replace the pre but you could never replace those loudspeakers they are still one of the finest loudspeakers I've ever heard!!! They are from top to bottom absolutely outstanding you would have to spend a fortune to match that speaker. Hopefully it's a small problem...
