    So the home automations system will turn the amp on and off when it needs audio.... So if it is going to announce something i.e. "Geyser is now being switched on" or "You have selected playlist XYZ" or "Welcome home Mr XXXX, ...." everytime it makes an announcement it need's audio... the audio...

    So now that they finally installed the home automation system, it turns the AMP on and off all the time when it does things. The home automation system also does audio announcements like Weather updates, news, my mail etc etc. The problem I have is it's turning the amp on and off all the time...

    X10 would have worked for simple set-ups and frankly I had enough of having to stick things together with plasters. My down lighters each have a  240 to 12v transformer on each of them if I had used X10 the signal would have got lost in the transformer and I would sometimes have lights going on...

    The Sub has its own power and the only connection from the Yamaha AMP is the RCA cable that runs from the SUBWOOFER out to the LFE on the SUB.

    Boston Acoustics - Connected using a "High quality" well it was expensive enough RCA via LFE port to the amp.

    I will check the cables, this is a R600 QFE or QFD or something starting with a Q and has a E or F in it :) cable for 3m....

    So my sub is set to AUTO on the back power switch. This means (to me atleast) that the AMP controls when it comes on and goes off right? So when I turn my amp off the light goes from GREEN to RED which is the OFF light. However the sub HUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMSSSSSSSSSS when its in that "off" or...
