    So after I read another post on this site, I found a guy in Cape Town who will (he claims) get the belts for me. He is on 021 783 2224, I forget his name!

    It's not broken, it's square and the length is 244mm although this may be the stretched length. I tried the hot and cold water trick, but sadly it is still too loose to engage the large pulley. I was not sure a) how hot and b) how cold the two waters should be, nor c) how long to leave the belt...
