I am using a blu ray,even if I change codec on my blurry lets say from Dolby to HDDolby my amp does not change at all in sound. Wonder what changed,it us to change and also massive difference in sound.I upgraded to ver 1.66 and I am using HDMI.

very slow and unresponsive,hangs and if it works it would play a few flac files and it stops playing sound...If I restart the process it all works fine.Can VLC do high resolution?

Does anyone have experience with playing back flac files on Mac,I am using Amarra and must confess that I am having endless problems with the software.

I am on apple Itunes with the Itunes music option that cost me R60 a month. This works fairly ok through my dac.But you must remember that you "rent" the music and never own it. and you would be only able to play this through you apple devices.... I am still in two minds  about this.

what speakers will you be using? And what cables?

I have a 5.1 setup fairly good. I listen to Andrea Bocelli in DTS HD.This will blow your socks off.There is that can even sound as good.....

your best buy would be There is a guy selling Monitor Audio Silver series second hand for i think about R18000.00 I have the full set and you just cannot go wrong with that price.Pair it with a Yamaha 2040 that you can get for a good price and you just saved yourself a hell o lot of cash.

I must confess,a friend of mine is a lp nut and he bought a basic all in one system with a record player,he is kind of old school.But hell I could not believe my ears...was just basic good!!!!
