Hey Guys,

This is off topic and nothing to do with sound about I hope one of you can help me out,

I am doing this lighting project and I am hooking up 20 Edison light bulbs

I wanted to create a dimmer circuit for all of them so I found this circuit online,

http://www.eleccircuit.com/3000-watts-dimmer-for-inductor-load/

It supposedly can handle 3000 watts,

So I built the circuit and tested it out on one normal 60 watt light bulb and it works, but there is a problem,

There is a buzzing noise coming for the circuit and the light flickers to the noise,

At first I thought it was the inductor making the noise so I put a  200uh inductor, but then I learnt the noise was not coming from there,

I cant exactly place where the noise is coming from, it could be from the 10W 10k resistor (which also gets extremely hot) with just one light bulb,

The noise goes away when I turn the VR2 resistor to full,

Any ideas what could be happening,

Note that my knowledge is limited in circuits,

Thanks in advance

Byron
