Panic 
We have had a 2nd hand Defy double door fridge for about 7 years now and it has worked flawlessly.
A red LED is now blinking and the freezer compartment is no longer freezing. The compressor under the freezer appears to be working as it is vibrating and I can hear a hum from it.
The compressor under the fridge part sounds the same but the motor is somewhat cooler than the freezer motor.
There is no way we can afford another fridge.
The unit had been making a rough noise the last month.... noise was there for about 10 - 15 seconds and and then repeat after another 6 or 7 hours or so. No pattern. Sometimes quiet for days.
I cleaned the radiator part at the back with a paint brush and vacuum and that's when the problem started. I unscrewed the radiator and sloped it back as I need to replace the tube the the drainage for the fridge part. Other than that I did nothing else. On my knees with this one.
