Title: Quad 22 preamp repair - warning burned content
Post by: Supergrand on July 28, 2020, 06:42:47 PM
Looks like this part in my Quad 22 preamp has burned. I have someone to help with the fix but we will be needing one of these: (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200728/223444b9928e1fec9c03c7fbe3708075.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200728/5547cce89954dac37027ebdc060bf3ee.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200728/51f8d59ddf4c190b18c308428e87f438.jpg)

Does anyone have any leads for this part, or maybe a working Quad 22 that they are willing to part with

Ok I am feeling better. A smoothing cap and fairly easy to source.

I suspect there are many good design floating around but build with compromised quality parts- replace the poor quality parts with something better and you might just be very pleasantly surprised.

Stan Curtis used to complain when he saw his amps being build with a lesser quality components compared to his design specifications.

Congratulations and enjoy !
