General Discussion / Re: Interconnects - what can be used
« Last post by Ampdog on Today at 06:15:13 AM »

I was wondering if the coaxial cable cannot be used as an interconnect - like RCA interconnect.

I take it you mean an (analogue) audio interconnect?

You may have noticed that there is some serious 'urban-legenditus' prevailing on the subject of cables.

"Ofc RCA interconnects" is a bit of a wide qualification; although downright crappy interconnects befuddle the market, many products are quite suitable for audio use. In that sense an AQ VDM 1 interconnect is overrated [and OFC has become a rather meaningless term; nobody can test whether it really is - but no to (re)open that lame subject].

Thus yes: You can certainly use it (the 75 ohm impedance has no meaning in domestic audio), but I would not spend money on some of the so-called 'special-for-audio' stuff.

Ai ai ai ai yai Adagio!

What is my old Alma Mater coming town to?

Side note regarding tracker device:  One can always couple it suitably to a mains charger for standby trickle/maintaining charging. Even though this will reveal the presence of a tracking device, you then have those 4 days for action. That might be an expensive protection mode though and still not very practical (unit cannot be protected form disrupting as well as in a car - if such small devices exist).

Yes, they will target a varsity town; likely UCT as well.

Yes they are good but are they good to you...the one thing you will learn in time with speakers is that different stroke. I might like it and you might not :mates:

What a unique , original and beautifully executed design . Stunning !

Ampdogs reference to gas stoves makes me wonder about ceramic coated steel cases -   mmmmm . Or Le Creuset pots or Alva coal burning stoves .
