I have recently built a very basic MM phono pre-amp from a kit, and am quite happy with the result, and the sound. Total cost (in an off-the-shelf plastic enclosure) about R250! Utilising a TL072 OpAmp. Plastic box, and gold-plated RCA female RCA connectors for input and output. Runs off a 9V battery.

Encouraged by this :) I am now wanting to build a "much better" or "semi-high-end" MM phono pre-amp.

I would like it to be (this time) MM only.
No need for gain and/or other settings.
Would like to use an external (i.e. not part of the built) power supply.
Run on/off(?) 12v-24v DC.
Parts must be available from Yebo/Mantech/RS (i.e. locally).

I am fairly good at soldering, and can follow an "idiot's guide" to assembling.
I have a Fluke DMM.
I have patience.

Looking for ideas, suggestions, kits, partially completed projects or any other useful input!

Thanks in advance,
Johan

PS. I have, currently:
1. NAD PP2
2. Pro-Ject Phono Box (various)
3. Cambridge Audio 640p
4. Gecko Audio MM
5. Dulcet Valve MM/MC
6. Dewaudio Moonflower
7. Spectro Acoustics 217R
8. Musicman Rover (my baby kit built).
9. Various SS and valve Integrated Stereo amplifiers with built-in phono stages.
10. Quad 22 control unit with Phono input.
...and a few more!
