IRC chat brings back memories from ... 21 years ago ;)

Telnet chat rooms on the original internet 28 years ago come to mind.  Even then most were occupied by (it seemed), trolls, drama queens, conspiracy theorists and neo-Nazis pretending to be vaguely respectable calling themselves the alt right.  Still, when typing up reports at Uni it did offer a fun opportunity to troll the Nazis until they lost it and started to show their true, ignorant and imbecilic nature (and get themselves banned).

I will definitely try that... You mentioned somewhere it made your HD600 more endearing to your ears?

Yes. It improves the HD202 headphones a lot too.

To my ears with the HD600 the most significant improvement is the bass boost and with the HD202 the most significant improvement is the removal of the peaks and troughs in the high mids. After correction is applied to the HD202 and the HD600 they sound more alike than they do when uncorrected. Despite the correction resulting in the frequency response of the two models being close to one another the HD600 still sounds better. Subjectively there is more space between the instruments, the soundstage is wider and the program material comes across as being cleaner and more detailed. If I were to speculate as to the reasons for this difference in perception, beyond my expectation bias, I would attribute it to the reduction of internal reflections and resonances from the open back and the differing distortion characteristics of the respective drivers, however I have no empirical proof for this and am unsure how much either variable contributes to the distinct signatures and if there are other factors that I am not considering. Perhaps polar response of the transducers also play a roll.

I remember trying Sonarworks soon after it came out a few years ago and being initially unimpressed, however my memory of this is vague. My first impressions are probably somewhere on the forum, but now I think it is a big improvement over them uncorrected and I'm unsure that I would prefer them uncorrected for any program material at this point. My trial period is almost over so I'll soon decide if I want to make the purchase. The only problem with the Sonarworks systemwide software that I have experienced thus far is that when trying to apply the correction to the output of the miniDSP ministreamer I can no longer get my DAC to lock onto a clock signal so it won't work. I haven't been able to solve the issue yet.

No one ever told me that grief felt so like fear. I am not afraid, but the sensation is like being afraid. The same fluttering in the stomach, the same restlessness, the yawning. I keep on swallowing.

At other times it feels like being mildly drunk, or concussed. There is a sort of invisible blanket between the world and me. I find it hard to take in what anyone says. Or perhaps, hard to want to take it in. It is so uninteresting. Yet I want the others to be about me. I dread the moments when the house is empty. If only they would talk to one another and not to me.

This amp is sold . Mods can lock - thank you kindly !
These are selling well and positive reports coming in.  Even a repeat order from an early adaptor for his 2nd table

Great collection you built up in no time! And some good feedback. Pop in if you want to try them on any of my amps.

Thanks Francois!! Sal defnitief weer iets moet reel as ek meer gemaklik is met die verskille tussen die 3.
