So after playing with REW and my RS SPL meter as a mic, I decided to get an upgraded mic to see what was really going on.
I ordered a CSS Mic - http://cross-spectrum.com/measurement/calibrated_umik.html
The unit arrived last week and connected up pretty easily. Comes with a USB stick and 6 calibration files 0, 45, 90 degrees at near field and general.
My calibrated mic is down 1.8db at 8hz so pretty happy.
Here is my room currently
- Height is 2.6 to the Rhinoboard then 200mm gap (stuffed with 2x 75mm Isotherm) before the 250mm concrete slab.
- All walls are double cavity
I took measurements across these 5 points

Not familiar on how to read the graphs but looking at the 'general' acceptable waterfalls I seem to have some major problems.
I have already measured the two rear corners and got 'approval' for two super-chunks. Planning on the same design as Audiomuze (2x 1.3m triangles stacked in each corner)
I am also planning on treating three areas
1.2 x 1.2 square - behind the TV
1.2 x 1.2 square - left and right wall at first reflections points.
The back wall has curtains with heavy black out. There is also a double glazed window (6.38/13mm gap/6.38)
The couches are material (bull denim - I think it's called)
The walls are plastered smooth
The Average across the five positions does not look too bad but it amazed me to see the HUGE differences in responses across such a small seating area.
I can't do any front corner treatments due to room aesthetics already in place.
Am I right in saying that I indeed in dire need of bass traps and first reflection points?
