Title: Subtitles for Samsung Plasma
Post by: santoshlv426 on February 27, 2017, 07:49:47 AM
I'm trying to play a video (MP4) that requires subtitles (SRT) which I have. The TV (7 year old PLasma Samsung) isn't picking up the subtitle track. It has picked up some others, not sure why this is a problem.
Then I tried on a Sony BDP S380 Blu Ray that has the option of "add subtitle", but it also doesn't "see" the SRT files available on the USB.
Can anyone help ?
thanks,

Can you see the subtitles on a computer?
Is the subtitle file properly formatted?

I had a look at unworking subtitle files and found the timing to be off or not in the correct format

This article is quite helpful - http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/subtitles-text-editor-aegisub/

Mornign Chris,
Yep it's a .SRT file. I can see it and add it using VLC, but the TV and BDP remains a problem.
Sometime's it just picks it up automatically.
Weird.
