After taking the plunge in the deep murky waters of Cans , and not wanting to spend too much on a gamble AND the ongoing fear that Ninjas will attack me from behind and me not hearing them because of the Phones, I went ahead and bought a pair of House of Marley Redemption song headphones, and the fact that they were marked to clear at R400 was a right BARGAIN bargain. How far can you go wrong for R400 right ?

1'st impressions were good, but after a while the dominating BASS was starting to get on my nerve, whats up with the Bass till you're ears bleed

In the good Tradition of being a Byleveldt, 1/2 a Hour to kill and the need to take something appart, a mod was in the making.

1'st this is what you require, some basic tools and a well lit working area

You OBVIOUSLY will need a pair of cans to take appart, the fact that the Marley's had a removable cord made life that bit easier

Next is to Carefully pry off the Foam/Leather from each side, there are 4 hooks that needs to be popped out with the help of a small flat screw driver, try and pry as close to the clip as you can

Here is some details of the position of the clips

This reveals the 3 Philips screws to take the drivers out

And that reveals the driver enclosure and the "Port" we want to close off, just to the left of the solder joint, between the terminals and the white felt

Cut a small piece of tape and stick it over the hole, cut off the excess so that it doesn't cover the hole under the felt, use the small flat screwdriver to press the tape down firmly

Reassemble them, the reverse of disassembling and fire them up.

My impressions of them now is that the mids came out nicely as the were no longer muddied by all that bass, they have loads of detail for my taste and the grand total of R400 I'm as happy as a Pig in Poo
