Hi all,

Thought I'd participate on the forum and share my build inprogress and hopefully get some tips and recommendations for the room while its still being built.

I've started getting all the equipment for the room. So far the list is as follows.

Optoma HD50
Grandview 106" 16:9 fixed frame
Monitor Audio Silver 6 front floorstands
Monitor Audio FX Surrounds
Monitor Audio Silver Centre
Marantz SR6007

The room is 4ms wide by 11ms long and a whopping 2.2ms in height.

The home Theatre will be only 5ms long.

Here is my preliminary sketch of the room. 3blocks is 1m.

The black lines on the top represent a double door and two windows.

The colour choices ive made so far is a dark grey for the back wall behind the projector screen. A light grey on the side walls. And I was going to paint the ceiling white but reading on here it doesn't seem recommended. But it would make the room seem incredibly low. And if I wanted it black I'd need to make some sort of extra drop in the ceiling to separate the two sides of the room.

Here's the progress so far.

The room was quite damp. Probably from being closed up. But we bagwashed the walls with coprox and then are plastering with a sika product in the plaster for Waterproofing. The ceiling was leaking so all the tiles were pulled off. And has been waterproofed with abe ecofeld and duraflex.

Once plastering done there will be a 20mm screed laid also with Waterproofing for damp.

Then the drop ceiling will go on it will only be about 50mm if I recall correctly, with nutec board and stuffed with insulation for temp control.

Anyway any advice is greatly appreciated.
