Searching the 'net for ideas how to unite a hifi preamp and a headphone amplifier has led me to this design. It is a design by Morgan Jones who is well known for his contributions to the tube amp world.
While I agree that this circuit might serve excellently as a headphone amplifier, even for 30 ohm loads, I am not certain how it will fare as a line level preamp. Has anyone tried this circuit?
Using three 6DJ8 or ECC88 to produce two channels of low distortion headphone amplification, it is quite easy to build.
