Watch youtube chess24 Howell, Houska and Snare.

The trio really brought chess commentating to a new level.

Very accessable to non experts.

"Wasting" many hours watching ... fascinating. Thankfully tomorrow is rest day, so I can get some work done.

i use to play professionally when i was younger. Im fascinated by Magnus and how lazy a player he actually is and still to be that good.

Vishy Anand and his co-commentator (forgot her name) at chessarena (the FIDE gaming site) are also entertaining:

I watched the documentary Magnus a while back and he's a such an amazing player. There's a scene where he plays simultaneously against 12 other players sitting on a chair with his back facing them and memorizing every move on every board. He won all 12 games.
I don't recall if it was in this movie or elsewhere when a few players were asked who they consider the greatest ever. Some chose Fischer, Kasparov or others, he picked himself when he was younger :)
Out of interest, he does seem to have Asperger's/high functioning autism.

Another very enjoyable chess documentary is Closing Gambit: 1978 Korchnoi Versus Karpov And The Kremlin.

Game 6 - a classic, relentless pressure by Carlsen in the end game (after more than 7 hours of playing), and Nepo had nowhere to hide, amazing. Can't wait for tomorrow's game. Definitely agree, if you want to watch, go to the YouTube Chess24 site - very good commentary, roving on-site reporters, nice titbits on past masters, and great fun.

I'm a Carlsen fan, and happy with today's result. But a lot of empathy and admiration for Ian today (two blunders and there you go), he managed the press conference really well, especially given the added pressure from his home country.
