I'm not sure if it's new or just bothering me more, but my first gen SRPP valve pre has a lot of hiss. Valve noise? Resistors? Snakes?
They're 6922 valves, so contemplating some bottle rolling to check, and just for kicks (so if anyone has some nice matched 6922s I'm up...).
Any ideas where it comes from, how to diagnose cause, etc?
Recently done a bit of upgrade to my project speakers with some nice new SEAS tweeters (tx Ian!) and enjoying the sound a lot more, so also spending more time listening, and therefor more time noticing the hiss.
