Future-Fi Now! NADís C700 is a slimmed down M10

"A more wallet-conscious take on the M10 ó thatís how we might see NADís latest entry into the Future-Fi canon and the latest in a range of streaming amplifiers to which we ďjust add loudspeakersĒ. The C700 puts an 80wpc amplifier next to a DAC and BluOS streaming module inside a half-width aluminium chassis fronted by a 5″ colour display. Price? US$1499, £1299 or Ä1499. Thatís almost half of the original M10ís asking.

Unlike the M10, the C700 doesnít offer Dirac Live and whilst its display shows cover art and track info, itís not a touchscreen. Does it need one when a volume wheel and a pair click-switches take care of menu navigation outside when weíre not using smartphone apps like BluOS, Tidal, Spotify and Roon? And for those who prefer to keep it old school with infra-red wands, the C700 offers IR remote learning functionality. ...

Inside the C700, the DAC circuit has is built around an ESS ES9010 DAC chip and the amplifier is based on the same UcD module found in the Canadian companyís C268 and C368 amplifiers. For those keeping score: the M10 features the more costly ESS ES9028 DAC circuit and Hypex nCore amplifiers.

From the press release: ďThe highly efficient UcD amplifier design is renowned for ultra-low noise and distortion through the entire frequency range, regardless of the loudspeaker load. Employing NADís proven HybridDigital UcD amplifier technology, the C 700 can deliver 2◊80 watts of continuous power and 2◊120 watts of instantaneous power, for effortless music reproduction.Ē

On hard wired inputs, the C700 offers. 2 x RCA analogue plus coaxial, TOSLINK and HDMI eARC. However, the presence of BluOS also means we get two-way aptX HD Bluetooth and low-pass/high-pass filter management for anyone hooking up a subwoofer to the unitís sub-out connector in addition to their loudspeakers. ..."

My Brother bought one like this , listened to it last night on some B&W Speakers
It boots up like a Pc ...
It sounds real nice and the display looks cool
For the price they could at least give a remote with it ?
Just saying...

A remote on a streamer, not even the 853 or CXV V2 needs the remote to function well as the App is way better to use. I'm almost certain that this has a great app?
I have the iFi Streamer and Roon ROCK on a NUC and use apps for all my music streaming needs. Even if I had a remote I would not need nor want to use it.
I can access everything through an iPad Mini, or my Android phone, and even when I'm working at my desk on my Mac Mini. So I think remotes are getting rather obsolete WRT streaming.
The only remote I currently use when listening to music is the Oom Schalk "Killer Brick" Predator remote, but that's because it's just so awesome to hold...😁

Yes i feel the same as you also use my phone to control my media streamer but he was disappointed, i think he is more Old school
