Structured light 301 scan

(1/1)

2wice:
Had an opportunity to scan a 301 plate with a structured light 3D scanner.

Crazy how accurate these things are now.

Crankshaft:
Really impressive.

On my list of projects, is a laminated plywood 301 plinth.

This would be ideal to use, to make the perfect recess in the top, to allow flush-mounting of the 301 chassis.

johan.pretorius:
Very useful, any possibility of sharing the 3D files?

Also planning to build a plinth (first a minimal test bench type, then a proper one).

Let me think about it, the opportunity cost me R1.5k, it is normally a lot higher.

2wice:
If you want the raw file, please PM email, and I'll send it.
I've reverse engineered it to machine my own plate now, accuracy of the scan is 0.8mm so account for that with measurements from your own plate.
