Tweeters on Tannoy Mercury M3s failed. Markc blessed me with a pair of BOXED Tannoy Sixes mk 2 tweeters(603, 605, 607) - for free... thank you so much!
The tweeters are still on their way from Mark, but I am wondering about the following:
I do not have the exact specs of the tweeters, but as they are in the specific speaker models, there is a difference in crossover frequency and sensitivity:
(Old) Tannoy Mercury M3 tweeter:
25mm (1") soft dome
8 ohms
Sensitivity : 89dB (2.8Volts @ 1 metre)
Crossover Frequency: 2.7kHz
Crossover type (description): 2nd order low pass. 3rd order high pass.
(New) Sixer tweeter (as inside Tannoy 607 ii):
25mm Gold anodised aluminium dome
8 ohms
Sensitivity : 88dB (2.8Volts @ 1 metre)
Crossover Frequency: 3kHz
Crossover type (description): 1st order low pass. 1st order high pass.
Would it be possible to overcome the 300Hz difference in crossover frequency?
