It looks like a group buy list, to me. Either way, let's see how it turns out, would be interesting to hear the thing.

If you're into tube sound, then you'll probably love it. It makes a SS amp sound like a tube amp. There is a little gain, not sure how many dB, but not much. It can also be used as a preamp. Just add a pot.

Well, I have added my name to the list. I just hope the costs stay moderate or I will have to withdraw.

My recommendation to interested parties is to first go and read what the H2 is all about. Start with this article by Nelson Pass: https://www.firstwatt.com/pdf/art_h2_v1.pdf

Although the new revision will be slightly different, I expect that it will still be a kit like version 1 that came with PCB and matched Jfets. It needs to be built: i.e. soldered together and installed into an enclosure and a PSU added. There is some tweaking involved to find the right amount of second harmonic distortion that sounds right to your ears. Some love it, but some hate it. So please don't add your name to the list just because it's a freebie from Nelson Pass.

And while you're on diyAudio and you think that the H2 could add value to your sound system, then, and only then, add your name to the list in a new post, copying all the names on the last posted list, while adding your name under the South Africa section.

In case you miss it, here are some notes from the end of that PDF that I linked in my previous post.

Here's an update. The boards have been ordered today and Nelson Pass revealed the following about the newly revised H2:

After I have double checked them (boards) I will issue a BOM.
It will use a regulated 12v DC wall wart and the only active devices are the single Jfet per channel.
I will be shipping the pcb and 2 matched jfets.

From that I can gather that the remaining components will have to be sourced by ourselves. It's no big deal when I look at the old version. We should only need to get a few resistors, small caps, two trimpots, RCA connectors and a metal enclosure. No big deal.

I will let everyone know closer to the time what the expected shipping costs will be. The courier fees from the USA should be quite low as we'll be sharing the cost and there are already eleven names on the list.

Please PM me your contact details in the meantime so that I can start drawing up an address list.

Thanks to those who have sent their details already.

The most practical and ecomical way to distribute the kits will be either Postnet or Pudo locker. I suggest we use Pudo as it is only R50 and you can collect 24/7.
Please select your closest locker and let me know: https://www.pudo.co.za/where-to-find-us.php

When sending your details, I'd like to know the following:
   Your real name
   Cell number
   Email address
   Town/city
Selected Pudo locker (or Postnet name - will cost more)

Btw, I'm in Pretoria (Northern suburbs), so the Pretorianers are welcome to collect from me.

Cheers

A bit off topic, but where can I buy good quality RCA panel mount sockets? Preferably in Pretoria. Doesn't have to be ultra high quality, but at least gold plated.

I'll need 4 for the H2 build.

Thanks, but at R112 a piece it's not an option.

I was thinking of spending a little less, like these for R25 each at RSE Electronics: https://www.rseonlineshop.co.za/collections/rca-connectors/products/rca-female-socket-chassis-mount-gold-plated Even with courier delivery, they will be way cheaper.

Any reason why it's a bad idea? I need about 10 connectors, 4 for the H2 and 6 for a Pass M2 clone that I'm busy with.
