Voltbox scam
« on: July 12, 2021, 09:14:57 PM »
Saw the story of this wonderful gadget on a news feed on my phone, smelled snake oil, browsed the web. Look what I found. No surprise once you read their blurp. There are several links to sites where the scam was described.

and so on and so forth...

Sorry if this is not the right forum for this.

It will work, but you’d be lucky to see a 1% decrease

The concept has been around for ages, in fact in an early Wireless World magazine there was a circuit consisting of chokes in series/parallel that would ostensibly cause an induction motor to become more efficient, thereby use less electricity for the same power output

The advert reminded me of a cellphone charger being sold for R10 at a Chinese shop.  Inside there was a 220k resistor, nothing more.  What might you expect for R10?  At least the price was realistic

The Voltbox is an outright con.  I have already had enquiries from 3 friends about this and told them not to bother

But....    My history teacher friend says the South African version is better since it has a longer earth pin.  He went and bought 4 of these, at R700 a pop

Well, he might learn something once this becomes history.

(A longer earth pin only counts if it is long enough to go into the earth  )

What rubbish!
The number of people, world wide, who spend their days ripping people off and telling blatant lies is disappointing to say the least.
