2020 - New Zealand, The Drop records - Fat Freddy’s Drop, Lock in.

This album is the recording of the  “live” concert held at the Michael Fowler Centre in Wellington on June 2020.

What a recording, what an album.
It is worth noting as something truly funky and positive that came out of 2020. And if nothing else is worth watching from start to end on YouTube

I love music - analog and digital. Even listening to the Blues makes me happy. During the day I coach and counsel, after hours I indulge in my second passion - listening to vinyl and restoring turntables. Some I keep, some I sell...

Another one of my favourite people and highly respected musicians, and one of the fathers of Brit pub-rock/white soul - Graham Parker with Rumour, "Stick to me". And boy, did it just, for 44 years since it was released.

Testing the Dynavector 10x5mkII. Always very pleasantly surprised with this model.
It rides happily on 6.5g moving mass arm with small amount of 50KCst silicone fluid damping and sounds absolutely magnificent at 1.6g VTF!!

Once you start with Graham Parker... you're hooked.

First 2 albums, both released in 1976 received critical acclaim and instant following by the audience, "Howlin' wind" and "Heat treatment".

On the TT, one of the greatest live albums ever - 1978 "The Parkerilla"

Should have brought in more... There will be more copies in a week or two. Ordered, just waiting for the usual rather slow process to untangle.

What pile? One album pile meketh not. :giggle:

Lambchop- How I Quit Smoking

Second album (and to my taste still their best despite the collection I have of theirs).  A recent album that was getting a lot of airplay on 6music (Spencer Cullum’s Coin Collection) has a track that reminded me of the track ‘The Militant’ which is a great track on this great album.

Either Matador or Drag City (can’t be bothered to look), first pressing so you can look up the year if you want to but I doubt it was on vinyl for long at the time - nobody really cared for 3 sided records being repressed at the time.

I would recommend Spencer Cullum’s Coin Collection too, but it will not likely see sales on vinyl here for a good few years.
When the sun is dying, we'll cross the causeway of no memory.....
