Giant of upright bass and cello, Lars Danielsson with amazing band.

Side note: those that haven't heard the unique trumpet sound of Arve Henriksen, you owe it to yourself to try.

Ooh, legendary! Where did you find that if I may ask?

Bought it from Pieter Uys in KZN a while ago and it sort of got lost in a pile when working from home ended and I had less time to listen to vinyl, until today. Very good album. 👌🏻

This one of my personal top 10 vinyl recordings.
The Mark/Almond Band – Best Of ... Live.
Pacific Arts ‎– PAC7-142.
US, 1981.
PS Molly is still doing the cute thing… 🙂

(she is not ON the turntable, but trust me, it is not as if she has not tried!)
I love music - analog and digital. Even listening to the Blues makes me happy. During the day I coach and counsel, after hours I indulge in my second passion - listening to vinyl and restoring turntables. Some I keep, some I sell...

Jazz night chez JonnyP

New Horizons - SA jazz compilation which is well worth the entry fee.  Lots of young talented musicians playing what I’d probably refer to as a more modern version of South African jazz....then it morphed into:

Indaba Is - many of the same musicians along with other young and talented SA jazz folk doing a new take on the SA sound, bringing in a bit more of the traditional music that this country has so much of, a bit of afrobeat, some electronica and just generally upping the ante so well.

Both albums are highly recommended and listened to together will show the fact that not only do we have some of the best current jazz artists in the world, they are reforming the genre so well.
When the sun is dying, we'll cross the causeway of no memory.....

Superb. You’ve heard some of these before. But you haven’t. Not really.

Never heard about this guy until today, but Knopfler's hand in the production is apparent. Really good sound... but this bloody valve amp also makes everything sound good
