Utterly entertaining flamenco guitar ! I wonder if anyone went to go see Paco live when he was in the country a few years ago ?

Yazzuzzzz... You play something like this - poor-ish live recording, distortion, warts'n'all - and 5 seconds into the 1st track it makes you think about the shyt that passes for music these days...

Not generally a big C&W fan, but what a treat the backup band on this album. Hal Blaine and Herb Lovelle (!) on all things rhythmic, Dick Kniss on bass and the insanely talented Steve Weisberg on pedal steel, slide and lead guits.

Thanks Tommie :)

Latest batch from Mr Vinyl arrived today so White Noise 2 is doing the analogue vibe in my spot.  Very nice end to a computer based day of working from home.  Gonna take up carpentry again tomorrow and build a bookcase as it seems like working from home will last a loooooooooong time and I need to get some more textbooks in from the office when nobody is there.

As a mater of fact, some organisations - industries - have declared that they will be permanently switching to WFH. In banking that makes every bit of sense. 99% of everything can - and should - be conducted remotely and savings that banks will have on fixed costs (people. buildings, infrastructure) once the "new normal" passes all the "tests" are GIGANTIC.
In education, huh, even more so. It will take some recalibration, but I don't think that education will ever go back to "old normal".
Labs, hands-on, etc., sure, that will and should stay, but that type of engagement averaged across all fields of secondary and tertiary education is almost negligible.

Just means I have more time on my hands until I get a batch of marking which now takes a lot longer as I have to pull up files electronically which are either online or on email.  The lab side of things is very frustrating for me as Iíve always been a lab rat and enjoy checking in on projects.  When I did, Iíd usually end up with students who were happier, more engaged, less unsure of themselves and generally better skilled.

Onto Blk Jks - Abantu/Before Humans since then.  Not really sure of the album yet.  It still has the sonic youth kind of thing going on but they seem to have got more jazzy than their previous almost kwaito thang.  Iíd expect this if they were on a collaboration with BCUC but although good, itíll take a few more listens to really get a handle on really good or meh
