Amazing Album that one of my all time favourites

+1, My favourite album,  also love their older stuff. And a very nice TT you have  :u2thumbs:

They also do a great rendition of Pulple Rain

Any reason for the Weller fest?
Are you waiting for loneliness to paralyse? Are you waiting for sister midnight to anaesthetise?

Any reason for beer? :giggle:
Just love his work. Not all Jam albums, not all Council albums, not even all of his solo albums, but on average, he's a creative force. With 40+ years of music career behind him the volume of exceptional work is staggering. Even if he is a "Style Chameleon" ...

I have an ongoing (unsuccessful) effort to find his early solo albums on vinyl. If you stumble upon them anywhere... :2thumbs:

My brother had a tape of his first solo album (long out of print) which I heard most weeks for a year as he gave me a lift to work.  Love the Jam, early Style Council but not a big solo fan.  Another friend who was a big fan met him in a London club once, introduced himself and said he loved his work then left him to his friends and family.  When Weller left, he passed the table where Keiron was sitting with his mates, stopped and said ‘Cheers Keiron, good to see you’ then left.  That was probably his best day ever for a good few years and the story was confirmed by two other mates who had arrived late and couldn’t work out how the heck he knew the Modfather!

  Friend of mine in London used to know him, he also described him like that. Gentleman. Stayed the same. Vaguely remember something about him helping kids who were trying to get started.

Apparently first 3-4 albums were re-issued.

Nice story.

Playlist for today or at least until such time that more recent UB40 pop albums make me change my mind.

As Falls Wichita, So Falls Wichita Falls #vintage #vinyl #jazz #greatmusic #greatturntable #redwine

I love music - analog and digital. Even listening to the Blues makes me happy. During the day I coach and counsel, after hours I indulge in my second passion - listening to vinyl and restoring turntables. Some I keep, some I sell...
