Great evening, especially after Aqualung's post earlier gave me an instant craving for vino!
3 mentions:

inspired by chrisc's post on the movie 'Quartet', reminded me of 'The Concert' which has this concerto at it's heart. Memories of ChilliVinyl where I bought this mint copy, maybe for R10.

my first Herbie Hancock vinyl, bought (by Francois-gift) for R5 at Micogram about 12yrs ago. Still my favorite Hancock album and I now have many. River is a distant 2nd

bumped into this one while looking for Jazz at the pawnshop, got excited by the list of hot shot/first class musicians performing here. Not bad, especially the bass on the last track side 1.

Earl Klugh - Finger Paintings MFSL UHQR!! The gentleman who gave it to me didn't like it because it sounded too bright to him. Not to my ears :-) He told me how he remembers buying it during his lunch break at the CNA on Jhb's Commissioner's street. He says it was  mega store with 3 levels and they even sold hi-fi!

Then I remembered he also gave me Nat King Cole sings/George Shearing plays MFSL which I'm playing now. These  must be the most valuable LPs I own, and for their sound quality they are worth their 2nd hand prices. Eish and I can't take them with me to the afterlife :-( there better be vinyl in heaven

So I see you are Joan's biggest fan!
;-)
Inspiration from the 'now playing' thread, http://vinyls.altervista.org/C/CA/Carla_Bruni/carla_bruni.htm
I had forgotten that I had this, its a 10" and tends to disappear among the big LPs

Carla Bruni could give anyone a 10"......I was most impressed with her album as first lady of France.....Don't think Meliana can sing

Just back home from a “four seasons” day - all the possible emotions in one, long, tiring, good, sad, humbling and exhilarating day! And now listening to Joan: Whatever’s for us. Indeed… #vintage #vinyl #whateversforus #joan #musicsaysitbest #redwine

I love music - analog and digital. Even listening to the Blues makes me happy. During the day I coach and counsel, after hours I indulge in my second passion - listening to vinyl and restoring turntables. Some I keep, some I sell...

It is a beautiful album, and very well recorded, as well (great SQ) PYC 6062 Cube Records.
The wine is just regular Cape red, but also very enjoyable!
