I had a NAD D3020 v1 and Q-Acoustics 2020i speakers as PC audio, but sold these, as they are overkill and were underused. I also have a set of Steelseries Siberia wireless headphone for when I need a mic, and for when I want decent audio, Sennheiser HD650's via Audioquest Dragonfly Red DAC.

Now I want to get desktop speakers again, but looking at the options it seems rather poor quality or too expensive for what I need from it. I'm wondering about DIY plans for a budget set. I suppose one way of doing it is to get in ceiling 2 way's and box them, then get one of the Amazon cheap amps - I've heard this and with careful selection you'd be surprised at how decent it can sound for the money.

Are there any know easy / cheap "recipes" that anyone can suggest? Or a powered set that someone knows sounds decent for the price? Or should I just get some logitech plastic 1W RMS units and call it a day?
