I have seen, in the past some thoughts on how to "restore" / "rejuvenate" / "refurbish" an old turntable idler wheel.

In this case there is no cracking, no flat spot and no excessive hardening, but I still want to treat the dull grey-ish rubber
to ensure this wheel works as best as possible, for another 45 years, if possible.

What do I treat it with, and how / how long for?

I think I have seen wintergreen, Ballistol oil, silicon, lemon pledge and some "aeroplane spray" people also use on
convertible sports car canopies mentioned before.

The one criteria is that I must be able to buy it locally, and not in 44 gallon quantities, and not for thousands of ZAR.

Please let me have your ideas!
