I have been looking arround for a 5.1 speaker package for my living room. The space is somewhat limited so I really want any large tallboy type front but more in the way of bookshelf speakers.

In my searching the net, I came accross the Energy Take Classic package which got very good reviews and high praise from all and sunder. This seems ideal for what I want.

After a lot of searching, I eventually managed to locate the local SA distributor of the Energy Take range and they quoted a price of about R8000 for this system. Amazon in the USA, on the other hand, are selling the same product for $399 which equates to about R3000 - a big difference in price. I just get the feeling that we are getting screwed when it comes to buying highend electronic goods.

They do ship internationally so I was wondering if it would not be a good idea to import the item directly - see their cost break down below :
