Question for LG OLED TV Owners

(1/3) > >>

Nidri:
Hi there.

I've been looking into LG OLED now that I have an Xbox Series X to play with.

However I'm concerned that they're bringing a hobbled C range model into the country.

On both the 48 and 55 inch models of the C1 range available here ( OLED48C1PVB & OLED55C1PVB ) the Refresh Rate is listed as 100Hz (as opposed to the 120 Hz Refresh Rate of e.g. The UK Model*)

UAE also has the 100 Hz Rated 'PVB' Model.

Whilst the UK gets the OLED48C15LA & OLED48C15LA models with 120 Hz Refresh Rate.

Does anyone with a 2021 C1 'PVB' model mind checking for me whether it is indeed limited to 100Hz?
An Xbox or PS should show the true resolution capability.

If indeed hobbled this way it would be a real travesty imho.

KenMasters:
No, it's not hobbled, they're just going by broadcast convention. US uses a 60Hz system, so that content is displayed at a refresh rate of 120Hz, for us it'd update at 100Hz.

For games or content that run at 60/120Hz, the TV would update at 120Hz, I guarantee there's no problem there.

Nidri:
Thank you Ken.
That's good to know.
I think I'll go with the C1 then.

(I was also considering the Samsung QN90A NeoQLED,
but it only has one HDMI 2.1 input, and it's more expensive too.
Both seem to have excellent picture quality.
The Samsung imho has a nicer stand design though.)

Unless you have a very bright living-room, the Samsung isn't as competitive PQ wise as you might think.

Steve:
My 55-inch C9 was probably one of the best purchases I've ever made.
