No more silver discs - how to replace a CD player?

So I am from the age of shine discs, but understand time and tech moves on rapidly.

What do I need to add to my system to eventually replace an excellent CD Player (EmmLabs)?

Tidal or Deezer HiFi on iPhone streaming through Yamaha AVR is not doing the trick.
Will this get any better if I add a DAC between the AVR and Pre-amp?
Suppose it won't be cheap.

Any advice for a technologically challenged will be welcome.
