HDMI to SPDIF/optical conversion

My Marantz UD5007 is used for CD and SACD playback, but the sound is not that great.  There is no optical output on the player, only analog RCA and HDMI.

I'm thinking of trying out HDMI to optical conversion (to feed the audio into a DAC) before investing in a better CD player (perhaps as a transport unit only).

Any thoughts or suggestions on HDMI to SPDIF/optical converters?
