I don't print a lot in my home office, a set of cartridges lasts for about a 12-18 months.

A full set of new cartridges for the HP MFP M377dw will set me back R7,500, whilst a new MFP M479fnw is going for R7,900 (albeit with a set of starter cartridges, typically giving 50% yield in comparison with the normal cartridge).

So, it almost makes more sense to simply buy a new printer (which comes with a new warranty) than to replace cartridges (in a low to medium usage scenario).

Canon also makes some pretty good printers, that could be an alternative.

Thoughts?

ps - I should have added: the current set of cartridges are refills from InkSaver, I'll never do that again... The color cartridges are at 50%, but not usable anymore (due to excessive streaking).
