I was also curious about the Pathos but have unfortunately not heard it.

Close perhaps is the Woo Audio Fireflies WA7 (2nd gen) although not hybrid as with the Pathos.

If you are looking to not break the bank there are some other hybrid headphone amp options like the following:
- Bravo Audio V2 (if you want to dip your feet)
- Schiit Vali
- Garage1217 Project Sunrise / Project Ember (I owned both these, recommendation goes to Sunrise sound quality wise, but Ember offers more convenience features and much more power)
- Schiit Lyr (Probably the most well known hybrid amp out there)
- Monoprice Monolith Liquid Platinum (based on well regarded Cavalli audio hybrid)

The Pathos Aurium is a beautiful product and I would be very keen on getting one, but I'd need to spend more time with my headphones to make this a worthwhile acquisition. From some detailed feedback from another headphone forum that I follow it looked like tube rolling and a PSU upgrade (Sbooster) is recommended to get the optimal performance out of the Pathos.

Don't change for the sake of it.
If you don't understand the difference between "their", " there", and "they're", then your an idiot.
