1.Buying a pair of speaker's that house a tweeter of any sort.(unless it's the blown Meridian of Rodney's)2.Taking the advice of any man under 50 years of age.(if he's younger... he's born biased and would have you believe we've "moved forward"...what a nutcase!)3.Buying megawatt amplifiers that do nothing more than suck the very life out of your music and are only capable of sounding good at one fixed position on the dial...if it has no low level dynamics it's worthless.4.The 100 k amp can and often will look a good deal "prettier" than the 10k amp but it can and often will sound crappier.5.If it's expensive to maintain and filled with complicated circuits, chips, ic's and waferthin dualsided pcb's...it's crap.(just look,if its there dont bother listening!)6.Buying transistor amps when it's obvious that valve units are superior(your ears will convey this to you.)7.In the areas that matter most no floorstanding loudspeaker will "convey" the message as articulately as an equivalent standmounter.8.Low efficiency speakers are a waste of time and watts.9.Modern gear is superior to well maintained vintage stuff.(surely no fool believes that?)10.Listening to the advice of others!(...had to leave that one for the end!)
