Hey Guys,
Ive been thinking of trying a four-some of kt77 instead of the el34's ...
From the reviews I have read:
"The original EL34 tubes will bring out the midrange frequencies, and they will help give you that classic Marshall tone. The 6CA7 and the KT77 tubes have a much deeper and more open sound with a cleaner high end. The re-issue of these tubes makes it possible to try them out and find the sound that is right for you."
"Compared to the EL34, the KT77 has an extended but balanced frequency range with fatter bass and chimey highs. The mids are very smooth and when driven they're rich and complex. Great in Marshall applications and anywhere added harmonic complexity is desired. They breakup earlier than a 6L6 but have more headroom and less compression compared to the EL34. "
Has anyone here tried kt77 instead of el34 in your stereo amp and what are your thoughts for my next tube roll ?
