So a colleague of mine is battling with his home wifi. He lives in quite a big house.
He runs a standard Asus RT-AC1900 router but it does not cover the whole house.
He went out a while back and bought a range extender and experienced the significant speed drop that these normally introduce.

So he phones me today wanting to buy a set of TP Link Deco E4 mesh AP's. The plan is to disable the Asus' AP and use these 2 mesh AP's.

I told him the following:
- The TP Link AP's will also result in a speed drop once the one AP is linked to the other\
- He should get a Ubiquiti AP to cover the dead area

- Since his Asus router does not have PoE, he should get a PoE adapter

So the chain will be:
- Asus wifi that will cover the main house
- Asus -> ethernet cable -> PoE adapter -> ethernet cable -> Ubiquiti AP that will cover the dead area

Both the Asus wifi and the Ubiquiti AP will broadcast the same SSID.

Does anyone have a different opinion?
