Have been considering doing some home improvements, so asked Nedbank about taking some money out, against what I have already paid in on the loan. Not a problem, they tell me, so I apply to have the money deposited into my account so that I can start work. Don't hear anything for about a week so yesterday I email and ask them for status. This morning I get an email from Nedbank telling me the money has been deposited (It was about R3000 more than what I had been expected, but...). On email there is a link to confirm the transaction details. Turns out it's a phishing email. My security settings stopped it in its tracks, but the question begs to be answered - a mere incredible coincidence that I get this email now, and with such a close accuracy of the amount I was expecting, or not? Tried reporting it to Nedbank, but the guy on the phone didn't seem to understand my concern. ???
