The good, the bad and the ugly

Ordered months ago they finally arrived.

They are made of highly compressed hemp and maple fibers.

As the drivers are literally on the ear you can hear any hum or background noise present on amp/recording. Also wearing comfort not great not for long sessions. This is with the stock F-pads. Oddly missed in most review I have come across.

The cable although flexible feels a little short and termination to a 3.5mm feels like less contact with slide-on 6.35mm adapter that a proper screw-on AKG type jack.

A previously quiet headphone amp can now be heard to have a audible noise-floor probably most due to low impedance and distance of drivers to ear.

This was confirmed by trying 3 different headphone amplifiers, 1 Class A, 1 zero-feedback and the other tube/transformer coupled.

The Soekris DAC1541 being the quietest.

Some may feel a SR80/e may give better value for money but this is a little more special being a "limited edition"

Although impressions are slightly negative they can still provide enjoyable sound.
