Hi all,
I am considering purchasing an Earthworks M30 measurement microphone.
See more details here: http://www.earthworksaudio.com/our-microphones/m-series/m30/
I don't see myself getting tired of speaker building any time soon, so I may just as well invest in it. In tools terms, the M30 is the Festool, where the EMC8000 is the Ryobi.
Secondly, I could most probably use this mic to calibrate other microphones with. You do this by using the M30 as a reference mic, then measure a sound source with 2 mics side-by-side, and generate a file showing the offset of the "to be calibrated" mic to the M30. This then is a calibration file which we use in our software, etc.
What are your thoughts?
Cheers,
Ian.
