Got a sms from SAPS this morning indicating that my handgun license will expire on 2021-03-29. Hard to believe that 5 years has nearly elapsed again!
Before I visit local cop shop to obtain require re-licensing forms thought I would inquire here as to what changes may have taken place during the last 5 years, I expect a few on the forum will be up to date with this (Trompie67)?
Must you now apply 6 months before expiry date?
Will you still require 2 X character references (One from your spouse and a second from an acquaintance)
Must your competency certificate be renewed at the same time?
Any info and guidance would be appreciated. Like all things government related i.e. drivers license, tax and now firearm license, I start taking stress when having to deal with this once again. :facepalm:
