Hey drifter, stunning build, extreme attention to detail, makes all the difference - well done!

I make do with a full house HP Z1 and a 17" MacBook Pro (Mac does audio duties in hifi system)

Just ordered a bunch of EK Waterblock stuff to cool my EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra and AMD Ryzen 5950X. Also ordered a Black Ice GTX 360 radiator.

Looking forward to building it and will post before, during and after pictures.

Looking forward to this.
I often wondered whether custom water cooling is worth the effort. I have no experience with it. It does seem as if you use coloured fluid, that it needs to be replaced every so often.

3080 and 5950X is a monster PC.

I'm going to use EK Clear Cryofuel which is very good. The fluid needs very little if any maintenance.

Build is the following

AMD Ryzen 5950x
Asus Crosshair Viii Hero WiFi
Team Extreem 4x 8gb 3600 cl14
Samsung 1tb 980 Pro nvme
Samsung 1tb 970 Evo Plus
EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra
Seasonic Prime 1000 watt Titanium
Lian-Li O11 Air
Full custom EK loop with Black Ice GTX 360  radiator and Byksky temp/flow monitor

The water cooling gear arrives on Tues and I have 2 weeks leave from Friday. Fun times ahead

PS, colour fluid is ok if you use the right stuff. Jayz2cents left fluid in a loop for 2+ years and when he fired it up it was OK.

Water cooling done

First prep the GPU for water block and install, for some reason EVGA used putty instead of thermal pads :(

Then assembly and leak testing

And the final product

All in all I am very happy with the result, the 5950x runs at 28 degrees idle as does the GPU and the VRAM runs at 38 degrees

Thats is a great build and a fantastic specced PC.

There is just one thing missing ..... more RGB.
You cannot stop until it looks like this:

Thanks bud

Hahahaha, I asked EK if they did a pump/res combo without RGB as I am not a big RGB fan. They said they had phased out all the non RGB stuff because "RGB for life". I laughed.

After build was completed I noticed a few things I want to change so I have ordered a custom cable kit and a few other items and will tear it apart in a month or two and redo some of the tubing, add a PCIe 4.0 riser (current is 3.0) and also route the GPU tubing behind the GPU rather than in front.

I also have a Bykski temp/flow meter I need to install as well.

Water cooling done

That looks pretty good.

What are the specs/BOM of the machine?

If i may ask what is the point of the water cooling, is it to reduce fan noise or for cooling ?

Definitely for noise as well as cooling and better performance. Also, I am a computer hobbyist so I enjoy building, tweaking, improving etc.

The cooler the CPU and GPU are the better they will boost their clocks under load. The RTX 3080 also has GDDR6X memory which runs very hot. Water cooling has dropped the temps from 96-100 degrees under load to 68-74

Awesome, and thank you for taking the time to post the details.

I'm not so much a gamer, but use my desktop for software development (running Ubuntu).  Next in line for my rig is a move to a fault tolerant setup:
